My plan for the day was to fish the creek channels that run near Loyd Park. I set six waypoints and trolled a crankbait through the channels. I also jigged a road runner near any trees I happen to find along the way. I didn’t get any bites, so i decided to go towards Walnut creek. I was still trolling, and picked up a white bass while going to the creek.
I caught five bass in the creek using a road runner and a spinner bait. I couldn’t find any pattern that worked, so I just fished around any structure. Small bluegills were hitting my fly along the tree lines.
A combination of high winds and rainy days has kept me off the water for most of this month. I happened to be off on a day when the winds were super low. I fished walnut creek and the creek channel leading to the creek. Only caught one bass in open water while trolling a crank bait in the creek channel.
Caught five more bass in the creek using a white spinner bait, a silver rattle trap, and a white/black crank bait. Caught several bluegills along the tree lines using a small popper on my fly rod.
