Water temps were just above 80 degrees in Walnut Creek today. I got a small bass sitting next to two stumps close to the shore at the entrance of the creek. Saw a few small gills hit my fly popper, but none of them could take it down.
The rest of the day was spent chasing crappie. I dipped every stump I could find, and caught around 10 small ones. One was just over 10 inches. I missed something big near one of the stumps. It snapped my 6 pound test and got away with my road runner.
