March 31, 2013 – Walnut Creek

Severe thunderstorm watch was in effect until noon.  I watched the last of the showers pass through Dallas around 10am, so I headed out to walnut creek.  It was cloudy and water temps were between 64 and 68 degrees. Water was a little muddy due to the rain.

Only caught two fish today.  A bass on a road runner, and a small crappie on a jig attached to a bobber.  I spent more time throwing the bobber close to the banks trying to get the crappie to bite.

March 21 2013 – Lancaster Park

65 degrees and wind 20mph out of the south.  I stopped by the park to see if the bluegills were up shallow yet.  They were not, so I threw my plastic frog and spinner bait.  I caught one bass on each.  The bass almost took down the whole frog.

Both fish were caught in around three feet of water.
